Teméeku Midwifery wants midwifery care to be accessible to everyone. The current medical care and insurance systems are challenging to work with as neither offers support for out-of-hospital midwives and insurance reimbursement is minimal. Because of this we offer a sliding fee scale, payment plans, and super bills for reimbursements.
We pour our hearts into this work, offering our time, energy, care, love, and commitment from a place of deep connection to our communities. commitment from a place of deep connection to our communities. With that in mind, we invite you to thoughtfully consider where you and your family fall on the sliding scale below. This is a starting place for a collaborative conversation so that we may reach a fee that support your needs and the sustainability of our midwifery practice.
The sliding scale is $6000-8000.
Other questions frequently asked
-
Do you accept insurance?
No, at this time we are not in network with any insurance companies. You may request a super bill at the end of care to try to get a reimbursement from your insurance company. Some HSA/FSA healthcare plans do cover midwifery care. It is always best to get a verification of benefits from your carrier.
-
Does your fee change if I transfer into care late?
If you desire to transfer into our care during your pregnancy, you must do so by 30 weeks gestation. My fee does not change with late to care transfers. There is a lot of “catch up” work that needs to be done including obtaining/ reviewing previous medical records and establishing you as a client.
-
Are refunds available?
Refunds are not available once established with Teméeku Midwifery. If you transfer out of care prenatally, the fee will be prorated. If you transfer in labor, birth, immediate postpartum, or anytime during the postpartum time, you will not receive a refund.
-
What do I need to do to get started?
After coming to an agreement on the fee, you will sign the financial contract and pay the retainer fee ($1000). After that payments can be made monthly, at every appointment or however discussed with the midwife.
